About the Committee
NIE (Newspapers in Education) is a cooperative effort between schools and newspapers to promote the use of newspapers as an educational resource.
Newspapers large and small throughout the State of Virginia provide subsidized newspapers, SOL-based curriculum and training to educators in every grade level and discipline in every corner of the Commonwealth.
The members of the NIE Committee of the Virginia Press Association represent newspapers throughout the state and meet several times a year to explore new and improved ways to provide relevant NIE resources to educators who are committed to maintaining and promoting excellence in all of Virginia’s schools.
